April 2001 - Slot Club Update

Wild Wild West has debuted a new players club, the Wild Card. It’s similar to Stations’ Boarding Pass system, although the systems are not linked; members earn one point for every dollar played in any slot or video poker machine. Points can be redeemed for hotel and food comps at a rate of 3,000 points equals five Wild Bucks, which go pretty far in the Gambler’s Grill, especially if you use them to purchase the discounted late-night specials. Unique to this Station property, points can also be redeemed to buy gas at the on-site service station at a rate of 6,000 points equals five bucks.

I’ve received many complaints regarding one aspect of the otherwise generous Back Stage Pass system at the Hard Rock. The club pays a high cash rebate of .5% on reels and 1% on slots, which means members get one dollar cashback for every $200 played at video poker and every $100 at slots. Unfortunately, there’s no countdown information on the display, so you have no idea how many more coins are needed to earn the next point. On a quarter video poker machine that could be anywhere between 5 and 400. My recommendations: Play at one machine only; do not jump around; and while you’re there, complain to the management. Enough folks did when the Lucky Draw machines weren’t registering points and they were soon put back on the system.

Arizona Charlie’s awards triple points on all play on Sundays and double points on Tuesdays. Earn 4x points on all video poker and reel slot machines every Saturday and Sunday at the Reserve. Earn triple points on Wednesdays at Silverton. Suncoast is awarding double points all day every day in April; earn triple points for play on Easter, April 15. From 9 am to 9 pm at Terrible’s, earn double points on Mondays and Tuesdays, triple points (on selected machines) on Thursdays, and 4x points on Fridays. Earn 5x points every day from 9 pm to 9 am.
