ATMOSPHERE: B-
Ear drum bursting LOUD music; we couldn't even hear each other
when we were screaming! (Try visiting this casino during the day
and during the week -- it's a bit "calmer" during those times).
Great display cases with music memorabilia abound. Don't miss
the Beatles collectibles display at the back of the casino.
GAMBLING RATING: C
If you can stand the loud music, it's an okay place to play. They
have some cool rock n' roll themed slot machines, and their purple
gaming tables are very chic.
FOOD: A-
Mr. Lucky's 24/7 is the 24-hour coffee shop at this hotel, and
it's great! The best deal here is NOT on the menu, however. When
you go in, just ask for the $5.95 steak and shrimp special (trust
me, they have it). You get a decent 8 oz. steak, a skewer of 4
shrimp drizzled in hot butter, a huge salad, and a potato (try
the garlic mashed). If you sign up for the slot club, you'll also
get a "Six Pack" Fun Book that is good for a free large order
of chips and salsa at Mr. Lucky's. Get this and the special, and
you'll be full for the rest of the night.
OTHER:
BEWARE of the ads in various casino mags advertising the "Hard
Rock Six Pack." The fun book promises "free shot glass," "free
souvenir," etc., but as you might expect, there are lots of "catches"
to the offers and LOTS of fine print. The new fun book has been
greatly improved, and much of the fine print has thankfully been
removed. So get on in there and pick up your FREE shot glass (with
NO strings attached)!
