MGM GRAND

FRIENDLINESS RATING: C
It's not that employees here are "aloof," but they just give off an attitude of indifference. It's almost as if they WISH you WEREN'T in their casino so they wouldn't have to work. I've received many complaints along the same line.

EFFICIENCY RATING: A
The best Valet parking in the city. Amazingly fast and friendly service. If you see a show or eat here and you MUST drive, heed my warning: if you self-park, allow yourself and EXTRA HALF-HOUR to park your car and walk to the theater/restaurant. I cannot stress this enough. The MGM's parking garage is the worst in Las Vegas.

ATMOSPHERE: D

The casino is huge, loud and obnoxious. If you want to go to any restaurants or even your room, for instance, you have to wind your way through the massive casino. Poor planning makes for fewer return guests. I am NOT a fan of this casino; I only go here to see shows. Note: the lovely Wizard of Oz theme is now totally gone. The faux-Hollywood idea is really lame.

OTHER:

The Hollywood Theater is a very intimate showroom with excellent views from all seats. Try to catch one of the Vegas headliners when you're in town. We always see Tom Jones there and it is fantastic. The new Rainforest Cafe is fun too, but the food is just so/so. The new attraction that puts MGM Grand above of the rest is its new state of the art Lion Habitat. This place is amazing! Located in the middle of the casino floor is a huge, glass enclosed Lion Habitat where lions can happily run and play. The best thing? Everything is glass, from the walls to the floors and ceilings! That's right; you can actually see a lion pounce above your head or lounge beneath your feet. This attraction is FREE and is a must-see, even for those of you who aren't big animal lovers. Kids will love it! This place puts the Mirage's tiger viewing area to shame.
