FRIENDLINESS RATING: C
Employees are not eager to answer your questions but when pressed,
they'll finally "give in." I have never been greeted upon entering
this casino. People sit down at tables and grunt to say "hello."
Not a terribly friendly place, but more of a "local's place"
where employees don't really feel the need to talk too much.
GAMBLING RATING: C
Average casino that caters to the locals. Lots of video poker
and slots. I wouldn't recommend this place for tourists.
ATMOSPHERE: B
The place may look a little run down on the outside, but the
interior is really neat. There's a little village and a 9-story
indoor glass atrium where a light and water show takes place
every night (it's lame). The atrium is filled with live trees,
winding paths, relaxing waterfalls and even a fake bird or two
for good measure. The casino itself is nondescript and smoky.
OTHER:
The Sunset Stampede show is overhyped but is really lame. A
couple of fake coyotes bark and the water changes colors. Not
worth the time unless you are already at the casino. The casino
also has a large RV park and a bingo parlor, as well as an excellent
56-lane bowling alley. Sam's Town runs several shuttle buses
from various (and ever changing) locations on the Strip. Call
the casino to find out where you can be picked up.
